The top part of the Honeycomb public toilet features a three-sided exhaust system, ensuring proper ventilation and odor control. Additionally, the front part of the design is equipped with indicator lights that display whether the toilet is occupied, vacant, unlocked, or being cleaned.

The Honeycomb public toilet is constructed using aluminum composite panels, stainless steel, and FRP (fiber-reinforced plastic). These materials not only provide durability but also contribute to the overall aesthetic of the design.

The Honeycomb public toilet design project was initiated in December 2017 at Shenyang Aerospace University and Astronautics Design Institute of Art. The design process continued in January 2018 at Brian Studio.
